Dr. Xinyi Ding

Dr. Xinyi Ding, born in Anhui, China, graduated from Shanghai Medical School of Fudan University with an MD in 2016. She completed her residency at Eye and ENT Hospital of Fudan University, a top Chinese ophthalmology center, and served as an attending ophthalmologist from 2020 to 2022. Dr. Ding’s expertise primarily lies in the treatment and management of vitreoretinal diseases.
Inspired by her clinical work, Dr. Ding has passionately pursued academic research. Her primary research interests include exploring the role of microglia in retinal diseases, advancing the diagnosis and treatment of uveitis, and retinal imaging.
In late 2022, Dr. Ding joined the Harvard Retinal Imaging Lab as a full-time research fellow under the mentorship of Dr. John B. Miller. Her current research is focused on discovering new imaging biomarkers for retinal diseases, particularly diabetic retinopathy, using Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography. To date, she has contributed to over twenty publications in leading peer-reviewed journals and her work has been presented at numerous international conferences.
