Dr. Helia Ashourizadeh

Research Assistant

Mass Eye and Ear

Dr. Helia Ashourizadeh is currently working in Dr. Armstrong’s lab, investigating a key clinical question in patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Specifically, she is examining whether the time from symptom onset or presentation to the first anti-vascular endothelial growth factor injection correlates with both short-term and long-term visual outcomes in patients with neovascular AMD. Her additional research interests include surgical and clinical outcomes of cataract surgery in patients with retinal disorders, ocular trauma, sustainability in ophthalmology, and addressing barriers and disparities in healthcare access.
